I now have about 250 kilometres (changed over to a metric speedo) on my very original, low mileage (8,606 miles) SEI. Went nuts on points gap, ignition timing, and carb sync., more than a few times! It runs well, but only once it's hot and can foul plugs, when cold. I am using NGK D8EA spark plugs. I noticed the original shop manual calls for Bosch X260T2 or Marelli CX8L plugs. Lengthy discussions with an expert <clubplug.ca> suggest the NGK's I am using are two heat ranges too COLD. He recommends I try a set of NGK Iridium plugs, DR7EIX (product code 5686). Ordered and on their way. What are others using??? Please let me know.
Thanks! John D.
