Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and safe riding to all.

Got the bike going after all the drama i had with not being able to start the dam thing after two weeks. I drained the fuel tank put new plugs in the bike and it seems to have sorted the starting problem. When i removed the plugs and inspected them they were extremely black suggesting the bike is running very rich just as i thought. Also noticed that the cable that connects the flaps in the airbox to the solenoid was totally loose from factory (possibly got built on a friday), i tightened it up and got it to operate properly.

Got a Benelli specialist coming down from Sydney to Melbourne in the next two weeks to check over the whole bike. He said his going to retune the thing after my concerns that it was running two rich.

Just got a few questions possibly other owners may be able to help me out with, i would apreciate any imput!

1. The bike goes great and there is power everywhere in the rev range, but i seem to feel like on partial throttle opening and really down low in the rev range the bike seems to feel jerky as if its got an engine miss?
2. Could it just be that what i am experiencing with the jerkyness (i dont think that jerkyness is a word) is related to the extremely tall gearing the thing has 17 teeth on the front and 36 on the rear, as oppose to 16/42 as on many other bikes?
3. On start up in the garage the exhaust fumes are really rich to the point if i leave the bike on for a while my eyes will begin to water. There is no black smoke coming out of the tail pipe but it is really rich. Is this normal?
4. Anyone used a tuneboy on their 1130 and their opinions on how their bike performs before and after?
5. What is the purpose of the falps in the airbox? Could this be chocking the engine at low rpm?

Otherwise the feel of the bike and the way it rides at speed is incredible and the brakes are just awesome!!!!!! I love the dam thing. The 1130 tornado rocks! Glad i bought it over a 1098s anyday.

Again Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to ALL!

Merry Christams mate. Yeah I think i am the first owner in Oz well that is what i was told when i ordered the bike that i had the first order in the land. I ordered the bike Jan 2007 and have been waiting 11 months for it to come. I was scepticle at first as i loved the 900 but i think they have done really well with the colour on the bike to make it look a little more modern. Paint chips really easy but i don't mind it looks stunning!!!! ive only done 103km so far and ive had so many riders stop and ask me questions.
I can't believe how much torque and power this thing has it pulls so hard much harder than the 900.And its really stable and light as its rolling at speed. Yeah i really did spoil myself this Christmas!!!

Once i get a digital camera ill load up some picks.

My brother spoke to Clayton he seems to really know his stuff and really passionate about benelli. I can't wait to meet him and get the small little issues sorted out on the bike. Seems really friendly and someone i can trust to leave my bike with! Have you had dealings with him before?

yeah

Clayton in flying over to perth to sort out a new WA Benelli dealer and tune my bike while here and use it for a tutorial for them too, have a look/download the magazine i made, in the general chat section, has lots of useful stuff, also the 1130 Tornado motors is based very closely on the tnt so look in their section, most pepole are disabling the exhaust valve and taking out the airbox flaps, but see how Clayton goes first.
Tuneboy is developing some really flash features for the Walbro ecu you have in the bike, but thatwould void yopur warranty, so I'd wait to that runs out first :)

Look forward to the pics !
