Mike,
That's certainly different! Sort of like a snow mobile with wheels.

But not sure who it is aimed at? Maybe those with inner ear problems and
lacking the balance to ride on two wheels?

Disabled bikers?

And I suspect it is pricey too?

Sounds like you enjoyed it and admit that I would certainly have wanted
to try it too!

Regards
Stephen

It's around $15,000 in the US plus on road. They want even more in Australia, over $26,000 plus on road. That's nearly twice the price of a small car  Still, they've presold the first batch of 150 in OZ already so there must be something in it

The motor is a Rotax V twin based on the same lump as the Aprilia Mille and puts out in standard form around 100bhp. This combined with a dry weight of around 316kg means it's not as quick as any decent sports bike. Not sure whether it's just my motorcycle reflexes talking but it didn't feel as though it would be as quick as a bike through corners either.

It's a bit like riding a big quad or the most stable outfit you've ever ridden. With no lean, the G forces generated on fast turns are amazing. You just don't get this sort of a pounding on a bike, very addictive :p There's also a disconcerting sideways rocking over bumps which is freaky until you get used to it. Everything is computer controlled too, there's traction control, stability control, ABS and active power steering. I reckon that the only thing that will let you down on the road when riding it is your nerve.

Can-Am

Mike,
Thanks for the info. I'd not heard of this machine.

The RSV motor is one I know well and IMO is a great, reliable power plant
and is well proven.

Imagine if the ECU went down on the Can-AM and all those systems ceased to function!!
(Just my warped sense of humour).

I'd love a go on one of these; the closest we thing we have in this area is one of those Gilera 500's - Not quite in the same league!!

All The Best.
