Rob,
I'm not sure what NRE tooling is ? Could you explain please ?

🤔 I've tried to call them and send them an email, but haven't gotten into contact yet. Perhaps they are more inclined to warm blooded foreigners than ice cold DutchmenThis they answered.
Good afternoon Domingo,
This part is a new part. Our supplier states that they can deliver more than one piece!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks and already wish you a great weekend, cheers!!

Non Returnable Expense i.e. a machined cavity tool (2-part to facilitate moulded product removal). It would seem the best route forward. I would guess at a few hundred with 100 price 10-15 each. Amortised you’d be looking at less than 20 a pop. A group buy thing I suspect.Rob,

I didn't ask Alex. It just seemed too many for a "Laurence Bulk Order"100 is a reasonable order quantity i think. How much do they work out at please ?
I'm a bit surprised by that price as well.Feck me. The 100off price is 3X what I expected to see. Guess the material build-up time is the same though with little discount for volume price breaks.
My impression of the cost of an injection mold is that it runs into multiple thousands. So a run of only 100 might not be large enough to satisfy us.Maybe the solution here is to commit to NRE Tooling for a moulded part, and that’ll see the pcs price tumble.
Isn't the slider different on a TNT cf. the Tornado?I'd be interested in that and would likely buy a few. I'm loving this TNT and will be buying more
You got that in oneIt just seemed too many for a "Laurence Bulk Order"
Charles scanned his slider and sent me a copy of the stl file - chain.slider.stl
I've put it in my Google Drive for anyone to copy and print. Charles has cleaned up the file but he reckons it could be improved still.
I've imported it into FreeCAD & I must say, it looks quite good.
Many thanks Charles.
It seems that my guess that Benelli never had any sliders as spares was quite wrong. @CanaryTrek just sent me this https://www.ebay.it/itm/295313270086 They say they are new & there are three left. I'd say that if they are still in their original bags they probably haven't deteriorated. I'll not go there though. I'll stick with fabricating one in two halves from 5 mm PP sheet, and maybe printing one in CF-PETg
Hey Errol I can't seem to open and view that file containing the scan. Can you send it to me in another format.? It seems I have found a mob that will print it out of an oil resistant nylon but the catch is...they need the one I have to scan and create the drawings at a cost of about $1000 AUD. Then $250 AUD to make one. If I had an acceptable drawing for them to be able to forgo the initial 1k,I would be happy to commission 1 or 2 at 250 just to try them. I didn't get a bulk price from them yet...Charles scanned his slider and sent me a copy of the stl file - chain.slider.stl

@damarksta001 Have you tried an online viewer? Free online STL viewer
I do not understand , why look outside the the forum for this part to be printed. I had already decided to buy a new better/ upgraded printer model in the future. If not for the fact I am renovating the house selling and moving, I would seriously consider making these parts for members.Hey Errol I can't seem to open and view that file containing the scan. That'd be great. I'll look forward to it....I would seriously consider making these parts for members.
I probably will in the future. But that will be a few months down the track...
I would be interested to know what demand there would be for this part. The reason I bring this up is the need to decide , do I buy the $1000AUD creality printer or the much larger yet to be released over 2000 prusa. That'd be great. I'll look forward to it.
In the meantime I'll try forming a sheet of PP
Is shipping cost for a 3D-printed part sent to Europe not prohibitive?what demand there would be for this part.

Laurence has the biggest attic in the world, stuffed full of really valuable parts.
Close, but no cigar. There was a group buy of silicon radiator hoses several years ago. Most, like me, thought that the stock hoses would have disintegrated in 20 years, but wonder of all wonders, they are still going strong - at least mine are.I think you will find (as I have), people on the forum only want parts when theirs is buggered.
In the case of the chain slider, as I found out to my annoyance, unless it is pristine, still in the plastic bag it came in and never subjected to UV, it won't be much use by the time the one fitted to the bike needs to be replaced. So, IMHO, the chain slider is the most worthy of a group buy to future-proof the Tornado. In this case, the future is already here - a bit like human induced climate change.I have a good stock of various parts I have saved over the years...
