Evening all,

Your help and recommendations please! Now that school is out, I have time to play property with the Tre k. What should be my essential mods and what would be nice to do's? Im changing the air filter to a Dna, will wire the exhaust valve open but whats advisable after that? Air box drain hole ala tornado? What else?

Thanks very much in advance!

Take out the flaps in the air box , cables and the solenoid off the back of the block, leave the 2 pin plug cable tied to the loom wiring.Remove the cat and smash it out, it does make the exhaust loud tho, very raspy. Exhaust, take out the flap and spindle, you can fill the spindle holes with two 6 mm gutter bolts and nuts , heads on the inside ,for a smooth gas flow .
You may need to play with the mapping to smooth over the lean spot caused by the std map to meet original set up.
Go and enjoy the bike ,as it should have been without the restrictions.
You do not have to do this if you are not trying to get the bike open up, just the airbox mods, cables and exhaust flap will achieve the same thing, and there wont be any shit in the cat.The hot exhaust gas will see to that.
Have you sorted the rest of the bike out after the tumble .

Thanks GBo and freeatlast, very helpful indeed! Was looking at a decat pipe but if its thats straightforward ill be breaking out the manual adjustment tools!

Freeatlast, the bike is rideable now, ordered the brake lever peg which was the only think that had properly broken, the rest is cosmetic but looks like I will have to take the parents to the small claims court!

GBo, I was hoping to keep the can standard and put on an aftermarket one but they are rarer than the bike! 😁 can I fit a trek 1130, tnt 899 or 1130, or are there any other options? I dont have a welder which makes your suggestion a little tricky!

Thanks!

The Tre k can is much longer than the Tnt can so they probably won’t fit. I have a spare standard brand new Tre k can you can have to pull apart if it’s any help. Nominal price…..😉

Well productive day (of sorts!) air filter changed, flaps and snorkel removed, solenoid disconnected, exhaust flapper removed and blanked! Only the cat bashing to go but its proving to be a right swine!

A silly question and a request, maybe it's be but how do you remove the can from the sub frame? I can see the bolts holding it but how the blinkings do you get to them?

Secondly, what map are you using for an air filter, flap removal, exhaust valve removal and cat removal? I've got the trusty tune ecu but wondered whats best to use as a base before tweaking?

Thanks for all the help!

i do this by removing the seat and using a small allen ratchet and a short extension to remove the two rubber mounted brackets from the seat frame, a bit of a fiddle but entirely possible.

if you search Dyno run today on this forum you will find a good base map that has been created by one of the members on here with some help from another, they have kindly uploaded it to a drop box and i believe it is still available.
hope this helps
