Hope it makes sence😯@twothree Well done! Bog standard npn & pnp BJTs.
Where did you find that document? I need a copy.
Hope you can make sense of it and if you think I may be wrong please let me knowThat is gold. Thank you
Hi Cam, I could get my son to have a look at this. He is with CSIRO as an electronics engineer. Currently he is on the Investigator in the Southern Ocean, but should be back in the next couple of weeks.I finally managed to get the glued-on dial needles off. I took it to a watch/clock repairer to see if he had a puller for that sort of thing. He did, but it didn't fit the Benelli dials. I ended up looping some thin, strong nylon thread under the needles on both sides of the shaft (under the toe and heel if that makes sense) to get a straight and even pull, and then pulled very hard. They eventually gave up the struggle and came off. It took a lot of force to break the apparent superglue joint that held them on, but it doesn't seem to have damaged the bearings in the little stepper motors.
The circuit board is a little different to the one Errol posted a picture of. The conductors are sandwiched between layers of the board, so it's not so easy to trace them and put meter probes on to check for continuity. Looking at the solder joints where the LCD display connects to the board, all of the joints look a bit sketchy to me. They certainly didn't go overboard with the solder. If I was any good at soldering fine stuff like that, I'd go over them all with a bit more solder. I don't think my big clunky soldering iron is the tool for the job. I'll see if I can find some computer nerd who's good at that sort of thing.
I sent an enquiry to Vectriq a couple of weeks ago but didn't get a response. If re-soldering doesn't work, I might try phoning them.
