I built this bike back in 07', then reluctantly sold it. Since then, it was sold to another person, who I later met up with at a breakfast meet. He offered to sell the bike back to me, so I bought it. I'm officially owner #1 and #4.

Anyway; here more detail. Its a 69 Mojave frame and bodywork. The front forks are 81 Honda 400, as is the motor. The rear swingarm is a weld-up of the Benelli and Honda S/As. I made the engine mounts, single intake manifold, header pipes and a few other little things. I made it to look like the Benelli Scorcher (67) 650 prototype bike.

Heres a few build then final picts. Oh, FBM means Fixed by Mike or F'd by Mike, whichever is more appropriate for the build!

Thanks Ian.

Running, dead stone reliable. handling is very good. front forks are not very sophisticated, but certainly better than OEM Benelli of that year. Frame is very ridgid, much better than stock Honda 400. So I think I have the best of both worlds.

Wasn't that a CM400 Honda that Prince drives in the film Purple Rain - I think he needed a low seat height :rolling: :rolling: :rolling: . Your machine's is a considerable improvement!

Update to the Honelli.

Off with the 16/35 sprockets, on with the 17/34.
Stock 120/90-16, on with a 130/90-16. Pushing it a bit on a 2.15 rim. But stock, a 4.60x16 was mounted on the 2.15. Suprising.....but it fit.

I wanted it a bit longer legged. This should drop me ~600 rpm at 60 mph.
