Hi everyone, I'm pleased to say that I am out of hospital (Kicked out early due to MRSA bug at the hospital and they did not want me to get it! (Nothing to do with Colin and Pauls visit! I'm sure!:lol :lol )) and at home bored stiff, with a leg that won't do what I tell it to!!>: I am unable to walk at present as there are bits missing from my femur which is wired, screwed and plated. It looks as if I will not be back to fitness for some time.

You all know the gory details so I won't bore you again with them, suffice to say that I am in a lot of pain and am feeling sorry for myself, but it it could have been worse!

I would like to say to all of you out there in cyberspace that I greatly appreciated all of your kind comments, they really cheered me up when I was feeling really crappy. Special thanks to Colin and Paul for visiting me in hospital and to Laurence for the great card featuring my new bike:D . (I hope!)

My once immaculate pride and joy is now scrap as the bike flipped and damaged nearly every panel. To add insult to injury, I have been told that the recovery bloke then dropped her on his leg damaging the only non damaged panel and his leg!:lol :lol

I am now waiting to see how much the insurance company offer me for her, but Red Dog have said to the Assessor that as she was in mint condition that it is worth £5500.00 to £6000.00.................. Watch this space for some ludicrous offer!!!

Once again, thank you all for your kind words and I look forward to catching up with you all.

Andy, thanks for a fantastic day on 15.10.06 except for the bit at the end!!! Please give me a call when convenient.

It's good to be back!:D

Well Hello Again!!!

It's nice to have you back Lloyd.

Hope the leg improves soon and you manage to get a better than 'fair' offer for the write off. No doubt you will be putting whatever you get towards the 1130 fund;)

Please keep us posted with regular updates on how the injury is coming along...... maybe we should start a competition to see who gets back on a bike first....... you or Mark (Ducboyjr):rollin

Re: Good to have you back Lloyd.

I spent the best part of an hour nattering away with Lloyd this evening on the 'old dog.' I am totally amazed at the aparant high spirits he is in (Mind you I think it could be the oramorph... I remember it well!!!)

He seems keen on the idea of getting back on a bike in April, obviously time and healing will tell! However, for someone to be talking about a return this quick after a very serious accident like he has had is a lesson to us all!

It was really nice to chat to you, mind you I am a bit concerned about that bit when you said you had a paper clipping from eastbourne stating that you were one of four bike accidents that day.... and YOU WERE THE ONLY BIKER TO SURVIVE!

Re: Good to have you back Lloyd.

Good to hear you're back in the pack, Lloyd, even though you're not quite running with it yet.
I understand that Coopers Extra Stout has great bone healing properties. Perhaps you can find an equivalent tonic in the Old Dart?

Glad to be back

:hat

Once again, thanks to all of you that have thought about me over these past few weeks (feels like months!!!).:rolleyes You really have made a difference. This forum has probably the most close knit community I know of. I also have made three new personal friends just by being a member. (Andy, Colin & Paul) It would be great to meet more of you next year if possible.

The worst part of my situation is not being able to carry out the most basic of tasks, like making a cup of coffee. I can make it ok but cannot take it into the living room to relax and drink it. I have to drink it in the kitchen where I made it. Sound's stupid I know, but without my family and friend's I'm stuffed!

Anyway, as you probably have guessed, I will definately be getting another Benelli. Be it a 900 or 1130. I still think the 900 is fantastic value for money, but the 1130 is probably going to be more reliable due to lessons learnt from the Tre:rolleyes . I will be watching and listening to what Benelli are going to be doing with regards to parts/warrenty backup in the next few months (as I have plenty of time on my hands!!!).

I will also be buying my bike from Red Dog Motorcycles in Edenbridge, Kent who I have to say have been fantastic in helping me. They even took off my alarm system from the bike so that I can have it fitted to my new one! (That has saved me £325.00!) Also I have to say a big thank you to my old racing partner Ian Killick who took off all my carbon fibre stuff and replaced it with the old plastics. As I say without people like these I would be stuffed.

Anyway, enough of my prattling on. Ride safe all of you and once again thank you all.:)

Re: Glad to be back

Lloyd, solution to your cup carrying problem? Buy a remote control flatbed truck. They travel slow, so won't spill your drink.

I broke my pelvis in the 80's and know exactly where you're coming from. It just so happened that my nephew had this toy which he was happy to part with for a few months, to help out his uncle.

Funny you should mention that as my mate as just said the same thing whilst on the phone!:lol :lol

My solicitor is sending an independant assessor to ascertain what my needs are to aid my recovery. I shall ask for one of these! (and also a new 1130:rollin :rollin :rollin )

Its good to be back!
