A reliable industry source has intimated to us that BMW motorcycles has been looking for a sportbike line and has recently tendered an offer to purchase Benelli motorcyles. At this point all we know is that an offer has been made and we are unclear about if that offer is even being considered by the Merloni Group that owns Benelli.

Hopefully someone out there can shed some light on this. What do you guys think?

can only help get build quality and reliability improved(just like texas pacific with ducati) which has got to be good news for tre+tnt owners old & new.

as long as the brand itselfs remains in tact, they dont put the BMW badge on it and dont equip the bikes with a cardan its fine by me

I've heard through a very reliable source that is close to the Merloni family that this rumor is completely untrue. Whether it make you happy or sad that is the latest!
