That is not for asking help but to advise TNT owners about a serious issue that I have experienced recently in my Sport EVO.
Two days after a long ride under heavy rain I took the bike for a day trip. It was a sunny day, quite warm, and the TNT was totally dry and worked fine. After about one hundred kilometers I stopped to check the road directions. When I started again, the engine ran for few seconds until stop. Tried several times and no way to start. I didn´t insisted too much. Checked the fuse box and detected the fans fuse burned. So, I replaced it and tried to start up again. Engine started but suddenly some smoke went out from the left side of the seat. Immediately I switched off the engine and took out the ignition key but surprisingly the dashboard continued connected, now showing the intermittent "BAT" signal. After some confusing seconds I pressed the "engine stop switch" in the right hand side of the handlebar, which fortunately not only prevents to restart the engine but also disconnects the whole electric system...
At that time, the 30 Amp main fuse was burned too...
I went directly to the area where the smoke appeared which was a wiring harness very close to the relay bay. Apparently nothing noticiable but in a later inspection, I could observe how the external cover of the harness was scorched.
Once having accesibility to the harness, that was the state of the wiring...And some wires burned until the ignition key!.
But, what caused that disaster?. Well, at first sight all seem right, but once I disassembled the fuse and relays bay (really quite tricky to work), that was what I found inside...Still was water there after two weeks from the issue ...
Then I could see a rubber gasket from where the relay wires go out which is closing that area by the left side. Exactly the point where most of the water was accumulated.
Probably it moved from its place or was incorrectly mounted from factory, allowing water comming into the relays and fuse area. Once the water inside it can remain there for months since no drain plug is there...And that is impossible to check from the top, hidden by the relays and fuse box...
So, I suggest to check that point, or better yet, improve the sealing of the rubber gasket with silicone or sealing paste, if you do not want to experience that disaster.
Now slowly working on this, will post the improvements.
