not the Savoia Dragoons' against the Soviets of 1942 in the Ukraine?
it must be the 9th Armoured Brigade against the Afrika Korps of 1942 at El Alamein, also known as Operation Supercharge, that tragically fatal decision by Montgomery that eventually led to success!
History repeats because people don't learn from the mistakes of others!

and as regards history, it's all in the past for me mate (sorry for the pun )

I did like history at school (if I can remember that far back) but with such a shite memory I can never remember most the stuff I learnt, and I certainly don't envy you being a teacher :bow: , so if you fancy setting up a history forum, I'll be you #1 pupil,
