It's all good so far!!!

I bought mine from them in October last year before they became the official UK importer.

Never been to their location as yet as the deal was all done on the phone and bike was delivered to my door.

I've had a couple of parts supplied on warranty with no problems but I haven't had the need for them to do any work on the bike so far. (thank God!!!)

However, I'm currently arranging to take it to them for it's 4k miles service, which is a round trip of around 400miles for me. (Any excuse for a wee run)

Service Date - 26th September

Will do Hector.

I've got it booked in for the 26th September which was the earliest they could fit me in.

I wanted them to check the valves, not that I think that there is anything wrong, but that's when the service book states they should be done and I wanted to keep on the right side of the warranty:\

However, KJM suggested that as the Benelli mechanicals are very similar to a Triumph engine it might be better booking it into their Triumph outlet who I believe are also Benelli dealers (The Motorcycle Centre in Orrell) which is 5 miles up the road from KJM, so that's where it's going into.

They said the same thing to me about the mechanicals and that they only needed to do the valves if the engine sounded like it needed it.

Re: Service Date - 26th September

Hi Laurence, did Orrell give you a price for the service including valve check? I phoned KJM today and they said to book it in at either themselves or Orrell but if it needed any valve shims they didnt have any .

service cost

From memory, I think they said it would be around £350/360 if the valves needed done and about half that if they didn't.

I was planning to phone them tomorrow, just to make sure that everything is still OK for Monday, so I'll enquire about the shims then.

Cheers Hector

Valve Service

Hi Hector,

Well it ended up getting done at KJM after all.

They checked the valves but it turned out they were spot on as they were, so we didn't need any shims.

Took around 5 1/2 hours, including the service. They even picked up that I needed a slightly thicker 'O' sealing ring on the oil cap to stop a small leak.

A good job all round I'd say and it even ended up cheaper that I expected.

Can't be bad!!!

Re: Valve Service

Laurence, glad to hear you are pleased , mine was booked in for thursday but they phoned up tonight to postphone as there seems to be some confusion over what warranty parts i am expecting and what road and race have ordered.

warranty issues

Let me know how you get on, when it eventually goes in.

What warranty issues do you have that needs to be sorted out?
