Leoncino 500 bad performance / stuttering on higher speeds

Hello to all,

Our 2018 Leoncino has an engine problem. When driving about 100 km/h and accelerating, half of the times the bike starts to stutter and hold back on acceleration. I then have to twist back throttle and accelerate very slowly in order to gain speed, otherwise the bike starts to stutter again.
I changed the spark plugs which didn't look too well but to no avail. I bought myself an OBD reader and have two fault codes:
P0650 Engine detection lamp, I think this one is just the mention that the engine lamp lid up.
P0691 ''Not defined'', this should be the fault code relating to the problem. When I look up this fault code it always talks about the a malfunction in the engine cooling fan. I have no problems with this and this should definitely not cause the problems I'm experiencing.

Does anyone know if Benelli has it's own fault code list anywhere? Or does anyone has any experience with this problem or a suggestion of what the problem might cause? Myself I've been thinking about bad ignition coils, to me this seems to be a typical ignition problem.

Thanks in advance!

Hi , is it possible that the fuel filter is partially blocked as you say you have to feed the throttle on slowly to gain speed ?
also check the air filter is clean .. it may be that too .
not sure if this bike has a petrol tank breather … if it has check it’s clear .
I guess it is possible the coils are on the way out .
Does it splutter in all the gears as the revs rise to a certain throttle position? …if so it could be the throttle position sensor needs changing . Or maybe the crank position sensor needs a clean ect .
not sure if the new Benellis will hook upto the TuneEcu program (new Android Available and old Windows version can be found )
Hope this helps
Rick
The fuel filter is a good option, should have thought of that. Do you know if it's a straight forward in-line filter or should I get an original one? These Benelli parts are so hard to find...
As far as I know now, the problem only occurs in 5th of 6th gear at high speed when fuel consumption is relatively high. The fuel filter makes sense from this point of view as well.

I will start with the fuel filter since it's a cheap and simple option. Thanks so far mate, I will do this in the coming month.

I need pinout of Bosch mse6.0 (Benelli trk), can you help me??

Thanks
Do you mean something to read the OBD?
Mines doing same sh#t.i noticed after power washing it there's a large amount of water in ring on inside of fuel cap so blew through the hole to make sure not blocked and venting right.then still did it so thought it was batt earth tightened that still did it.thought could be power commander so tune back to stock.not that today I swear same prob continued but then felt like it dropped a cylinder.turned it off while riding turned back on and started it n it was good as gold.i can't figure it out.plugs get changed regular as air filters good.let me know if U come up with a cause n I'll do the same.its pissing me off
I know how you're feeling, it pisses me off as well. So it's been a while since we used the Benelli but now that the weather is getting better we took it out of the garage. After a few months of running it stuttered quite a lot but this was something I expected since it had to wake up from it's winter sleep. After a few kilometers it ran very well. To be sure I put a bottle of injection cleaner in the tank and drove it for a few days. Last saturday I took it on the motorway for the first time and that was also the first time that I reached higher speeds. It stuttered at 130 km/ph a littler bit but when I accelerated further it seemed that the problem was gone. When I drove back I didn't notice the problem anymore at all.
I will try the see what it does in the next few days but I've got good hope that this solved the problem. As far as I can tell now, it was lacking fuel when it gets at higher RPM's and speed so I think the injectors or the fuel filter was blocked and that the injection cleaner cleared out some of the rubbish. Let's hope it stays well. If not, I will change the fuel filter. Keep you posted.

Cheers man I'm ready to loose it at this bike it makes no sense...
Oh also try AliExpress for Benelli parts there all made there anyway Theese days norm I find all the stuff I need there
I have been facing the same issue on my Benelli TNT 150i for the past couple of months. The acceleration starts to stutter when I am accelerating on 4th or 5th gear to 90km/h to 100km/h. The check engine light came on shortly after with the same P0650 code. The dealer said that it is normal in this model and is probably the oxygen sensor (idk why i listened to him cuz that was all bullcrap). Fast forward to today and my bike isn't starting, been sitting in the garage for about a 3 weeks or so and the buzz sound for activation of fuel pump on ignition is no longer coming. Please update me if you find a fix regarding your problem, will highly appreciate some help!
Imho it sounds like classic fuel starvation
Filter, pump or injectors. That's where I would be looking at first
I would try a can of seafoam, i've had loads of success with this stuff in the past. It's quite cheap and I think well worth a try.
P0691 is a code indicating something is wrong with your cooling fan.
P0650 means one of several things: Something has been chewing your wiring. Your gauges are faulty. There is a missing ground somewhere.
