help please anyone lowered a trek i would like to lower it at least 1 .5 inches
i think my legs have shrunk

hi ferret
only thing i have done is lowered the forks in the yolks about 10 mm, but if anyone else has done anything i would be intrested to know as well

Have you tried letting some air out of your tyres :doh:

i think my legs have shrunk
1.5" (38mm) is too far to go by just slipping the forks through the triple clamps & lowering the rear ride height. 15mm is about max that way.

Shortened front springs & changes to the rear leverage is probably the only way to do it properly.

Do a search of the web. I've seen articles on how to do it.

it has not effected the handling for me but i don,t travel at warp speeds . not heard of anybody doing anything else , only thing i can think of is a differnt rear shock absorber. but have not heard of any one doing that.
