Hi All, just got back from a fortnight trek-ing in France and pleased to report that she's been pretty much faultless. Weather kept the mileage lower than expected but hey ho. Fantastic roads and fantastic handling spoilt only by the crappy OE Dunlop D270s. However, I just noticed something odd. I know that before I set off I put 3 full turns on the rear preload and that firmed it up nicely for 2 up with luggage. Having got back I just gave her a wash (the bike not the wife) and tried to adjust the preload back again. Funny thing is I only got 2 turns before it felt like it'd hit the stops. I know I put 3 on coz I'm dead careful and picky about these things. It handled like a dream and I didn't want to spoil it. Thinking about it things maybe did get a bit squidgy so has the preload somehow unwound itself? Anybody heard of anythinfg like this? I'm not actually convinced that the preload has backed off as a quick spin round the block suggests it's still wound up?
