My brother in law and i broke out from the winter hybernation to take a ride out on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the summer climes of Bedfordshire for Silverstone. As we both have Italian bikes (my Tornado and his Aprilla RVR Mille) we dropped in at "Frozza Italia". For those that are not aware they specialise in Ducatti, Aprilla, MV Augsusta and Moto Guzzi. The first surprise was seing another Tornado parked up outside, matching my Green and silver to a tee. On tradeplates, it was difficult to tell how old it was. It looked like new. Once inside gourging ourselves on the delectible scene of Italian exotica, i spoke to the owner Chris about the Benelli. Apparently they are putting thier toes into the water with Benelli and seeing if its going to be worth selling/serving the bikes. The one outside was indeed unregistered, and sold, going on to an 07 plate. As my bike is due an MOT and service in the summer ill be giving them a call later in the year to see how things are going. They are aware that they have a reputation to protect, so i dont think they will be entering into this lightly. Looking at the facilities and chatting with the staff and mechanics it certainly gave me confidence that they would be good to deal with. I will certainly keep this forum up to date with any progress. If you think that they have anything to do with Baines, who are also sited there, the answer is not now. Apparently they used to part of Baines, using thier name to sell and service Italian bikes. However, so i was told, Baines didnt want to branch out with Aprilla so Forzza Ittalia was born. The range of bikes sold in the showroom is interesting and varied. The entire Moto Guzzi range was on display as were most Ducati's. The second hand Ducatti range they specialise in was top quality too. A number of MV Augusta's were in residence, both new and used, as were some from the Aprilla range. I would reccomend a visit, i could have stayed for hours! If they do decide to take on Benelli it would be the icing on the cake!
