pulled the clutch cover off to have another look and was just about to adjust the clutch up and noticed in the assembly instructions of the clutch that there should be 6 return springs is there a reason why these might have been removed and will it cause me any issues in the short term and should i get some?

Cheers

far from being mr clutch. I'd say they were put there for more than looks, Very strange. I'd call Bennett's and ask if they've heard of such shinanagens.

We we know why they are there but your clutch functioned with out.????

I live in Australia so calling Bennets is out haha.....yeah i can't see why you would remove them but the clutch does work still just found it a bit odd......also the clutch basket (bit the drive gears are attached to) has some in and out movement is this a common thing?

Cheers

The whole basket should be tight with no noise when you shake it if it rattles then the pressure plate springs could be trying to escape, as for the gears on the back they should not have movement. What date is stamped in the basket.....if it's earlier than an 07 you want to be changing it.

Yeah couldn't work out where the date was when i had it all apart and now i know i don't have a 36mm socket at home so couldn't pull it back apart this arvo to check haha...... i checked the springs when i had it apart a few weeks ago and they are tight as and don't move or rattle and the drive gears for the z25 are 8mm so i'm guessing it has the upgrade basket (will get a 36mm socket and confirm soon).

The bit with the cross through it (the clutch hub) has no movement what so ever

The bit with the red dots (clutch basket and all the drive gears that are attached to it) can move in and out on the shaft by a small amount

You should have thin springs on the basket under the pressure plate and then alternate silver/black springs. With the pressure plate,

the date stap should be visible withe the plate stack out its just a circle with ......... Hopefully 07 in it

i shall hall go look at my old basket and manual. It's not clear in those things and I am sure some is lost in translation.

thanks mate.......and that number is it visible with the clutch disks out or do i need to remove the hub as well?
Cheers
Its visible with clutch in situ but plates out, And the TNT manual shows springs under the plate as well as above it on both mine.

Anyone with a TNT 1130 that has there clutch apart atm able to confirm 100% there are springs under the pressure plate? Cause the benelli dealership in brisbane is using this parts picture and it only shows the 1 set of springs.

No springs under pressure plate, 1 set of springs in the TnT 1130, 2 springs in the TnT R dry slipper.

Really strange that, as my TNT clutch lever is lighter than Mary Berry's Victoria sponge, Maybe I should take them out of the Tornado as well. As for wrist arm development, squeezing balls is apparently quite effective.

Nope, I didn't have a problem with either of my previous TNT clutches either - They were both very suitable for "gentlemen who bake a light sponge" as Viz puts it
But the R160 is both heavy and binary. (I may possibly have bleated about this before) Still, the slippery bit has saved me so I forgive it

I think we need to mess with your inards to get to the bottom of your clutch, and see if we can't get it to operate like it's made of equal quantity's of sieved flour, creamed butter, sugar and free range poultry droppings;)
