As I was giving the bike a once over prior to going out for a bimble on Sunday, I noticed that the leading edge on my lower panels were also suffering the same fate as the green bikes!

It's not too bad and because the colour is close to the colour of the plastics it isn't that obvious, however I know it is there!

Bugger>: , now do I chase this under warranty, or do I just put up and shut up?

Andy, you can prevent this from getting worse by painting clear nail varnish over the affected area. This consolidates the flaky paint and prevents more form peeling off. Its waterproof too!

I did this to my bike when the green paint was peeling quite badly and it worked a treat.

I was given this tip by a painter who looks after formular BMW race cars for Nigel Mansells son's, so he should know!

I would chase this up Andy. The nail varnish trick does work but why should you have to make small repairs to your bike when it's already a known fault? Sure it might not be that noticable to someone who doesn't know it's there ..... but you do and I bet you can't help but see it everytime you wheel that baby out for a blast;)

Seems like a 'nice boy'

Hmmmmmmmm, Nail varnish eh!!!......... Nice one Lloyd

Oh, and I've also heard that if you wear your girlfriends panties underneath your leathers, it sometimes stops the clocks from re-setting

This is in fact true Laurence and not the myth that everyone dismissed. The pants however have to be 100% nylon and worn underneath a pair of 15 denier American Tan tights. The static build up in the nether regions is occasionaly released from the groin area, through the leathers and makes contact with the tank. It's this small electrical charge that keeps the clocks from resetting. Another way to stop it happening is to ride about with one of those square shaped 9v batteries in your mouth, although the drawback to that is the amount of saliva that is produced can put the laydeez off a wee bit:rollin

Oh, so that's where I've been going wrong then Al .............I can't say I found that the Wife's cotton bloomers made a blind bit of difference.

(Although they have been keeping me a little warmer round the nether region, now that the weather is getting a little colder)

Re: Seems like a 'nice boy'

Well I have just come off the telephone to KJM, unfortunately Brian Harris wasn't there as he has a week off this week.

One of his very helpful colleagues has advised me to take some pictures of the paint peeling problem and send it off to them, hopefully the pictures will come out okay, because he said I may not even have to go up to Wigan as the lowers could be shipped straight to me - what a bonus!!!

Bloody good chaps if they do sort this out... now why couldn't Double cross be as helpful???
