I’m still torn on splitting it up .. if I’ve room or I’m only getting pennies offered for parts I may keep it for the future.
I’ve already bought a low mileage Yamaha Tracer 900 2018

Its a transplant Rick, only way to go, engine swop with a guaranteed "good un". You could do it with a little help in a weekend . I know where one is. You will get loads of good parts recovered from your old engine. it is definitely not worth splitting the lump for a crank change, it is a can of worms in there. The rest of the bike is up together , suspension sorted etc. If you like the new bike more than it , you can sell it off and recover your money that way.
I did say , I found the same with the Trek I have. It is rebuilt and sorted now, if I had let the few parts in demand go ,I would have a pile of junk in the back of the garage.

Engine swap is easy for Rick he is well practiced. And he has a garage I did mine in the back yard.

So are we , Ben and I reckon we could do an engine swap and back running in a day. Rear paddock stand and the front wheel out. lift the bike off the old engine and drop the frame back down on the replacement.

Hi guys just thought I’d let you all know that it is possible to reach £3k and above for an effectively dead bike .
And In doing so I’ve helped so many people so far and more to come I’m sure .
I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me over the years and people who have bought parts from me .
this doesn’t mean I’m giving up on Benelli but just the TreK I had . I’ll also stay a fully active member on here and The FB page. 😎… anyway it’s a nice day so I’m off out for a spin !

How did you make £3K Rick. when I looked at breaking mine with a terminal engine failure, piston had a chat with the valves. Sourced head, barrels , matching pistons and a head gasket from Laurence. Re mapped it , new stepper motor and TPS. She goes well now . but when I punted parts,a few plastics and bits , I could,nt raise £300.

peter I guess there might be more Benelli Tre / k / tnt owners looking for hard to find parts . At first I did think about buying a second hand engine but when I discovered the crank had snapped I knew I wasn’t going down that road for it to possibly to happen again . A long shot I know but not one I’d risk again at speed
weirdly the pistons head , cams and barrel are intact.
I’ll keep them if they don’t sell this time around for the future.😃

Guzzi Hero, had a crank go on a Tornado , at speed. Lucky he had a super quick clutch hand. yours is only the second one I know of . Chris,s crank ran no 1 big end and destroyed the crank and the rod.
