hi all,a technical question if you please.I'm not that handy with the spanners so bare with me if i'm not makin sense.

My Tornado came with the Arrow titanium sport race can, which sounds great and in the docs i got with the bike the previous owner hadn't had the can on long before he sold the bike.

The bike goes great from right off the bottom of the rev range up to 5000rpm and then again from 7000rpm onwards(havent gone beyond 1000orpm yet) but between 5 and 7 its quite rough running,so the question is, does it need remapping to match the can? or should it be like this?

this is the first fuel inj. bike i've had so its all a bit new to me, and can any dealer do the re-map?

thanks in advance

The 6033 map is the latest map for a standard exhaust on a tre, the 6034 is the map for the tre with race can fitted. A dealer with the axone computer and with the Benelli software can load to your ecu. If you have the standard can I would fit and try, as there is a setting that if set incorrect will give a bad flat spot. Lloyd or Russ know how to correct this setting using the axone.

Hi friend
I would suggest a re-map and this can be done by and COMPITTANT Benelli dealer. Ideally you could do with the tune boy software for it but this is more specialised and ££££'s also WWWAAAYYY beond my comprehension, ,
kind of.
Where do you get your servicing done.

OK so i have just seen Colin has bet me to it. Colin is rite kleverer than wot i is and nose about these tings :rolling:
And so is Mark. C below

can any dealer do the re-map?
Hi Fred the remap should be done by an Benelli dealer and should not cost much ,in theory any dealer with the correct Axone or similar could do it but they would not have the latest fuel maps from Benelli. There is a race can map from Benelli (which removes the fueling restriction to meet ride by noise restrictions ) to suit the Benelli titanium race can which has the words 'Benelli sport' written on it ,both standard and sport cans are made by Arrow. If you have just bought the bike and it had been remapped to run on the race can the seller may have removed the race can and not remapped the bike .Mine also runs poorly with the standard can slipped back on hope this helps

Are they a Benelli agent friend... You do need some 1 that is educated in the ways of the Benelli.
That ride to Russ's or DK is well worth it friend.

Fred,
Ive not had mine for long either and Streffords are my nearest, I have visited them once and spoken a few times on the phone about stuff.
They seem very willing and helpful. Iv'e yet to have any work done there so time will tell. But I can say that when i went there, they were more than happy to talk Benelli for as long as I wanted, which was very long obviously, they had a new TRE in the small showroom, and were more than happy to get it out from all the others so i could have a play around with it, which i thought was good of them, also dealers in Moto Guzzi, etc, Steve.

Fred,
P.S if you are thinking of putting the original pipe back on I might be interested in the Sport one,

Fred, you shouldn't have an issue with the pipe as MOT regulations do not state that a loud pipe is a 'failure' if your MOT tester is worth his weight, then you should receive a pass, with an advisory for the can.

Fred, Is yours the one from South London Motorcycles Ltd (its still advertised on the web). I was tempted by it myself, it looks real good in the black but I couldnt resist the pull of the GREEN/GREY, so thats what I got in the end, Steve.

I would be interested in your experiences with Streffords when one of you has something done. I will still be using Bennetts but always useful to have someone closer "just in case" if they seem like they know what they are doing.

Keep an eye on the Fleabay for exhausts they come up fairly often. If you wanted one now I know a breaker who has one. He wanted £150 for it which I thought was a bit steep.

The Benelli race can are road legal with the removable baffle fitted, baffles are the same as fits to a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K4 Arrow race can (standard shape not stubby) and cost about £40

Cheers for that but its been an expensive month what with buying the bike, insurance and numerous visits to tesco's for petrol,so i'll pass.
I have booked it in to streffords a week monday for the remap so i'll let you know how it all goes. They sounded pretty knowledgeable on the phone so we'll see.....
