bike has been running really well for the last few months, but after a trip to the Big Chill festival has not been running well at low revs/idle. Keeps on going from 3 to 2 cylinders when idling, but fine over about 1800revs. Has anyone experienced this or know what to do? Have had the the spark plugs out etc....

could be a couple of things possibly ignition or fuel, my bet is the dreaded stick coil...... a quick test is to start the engine don’t rev it......... if its running on 2 cylinders due to ignition problems one of the down pipes will be stone cold were as the other two will be friggin red hot! As for the fuel, check all connectors push all the plugs on the fuel rail in firmly..................... to test the injectors you really need diagnostic equipment also usually the FI light stays on if there is a fuel problem. Intermittent problems are always a nightmare to find, keep us posted.

Have got an ex-benelli technician sorting it out at the moment and he seems to think that it's a faulty coil stick, as has experienced this on other bikes! My usual bike mechanic has been greasing them up because if the bike is left standing, moisture collects in the coil stick slot and corrodes them. Will find out today the exact problem and keep you all informed.
Thanks for all your words of wisdom!
