Hi Guys,

How about a forum/topic for Benelli sightings -- since there's very few of them here in the UK (and especially Scotland)..

anyway -- one of my work colleagues spotted a Green/Silver TRE/LE around the Bankhead Industrial estate area (where I work) this morning - problably around 8:30 - 9:00 -- anybody want to admit to it being them ?

also -- I saw a Green/Silver TRE/LE on the Edinburgh City Bypass (A720) - heading west near the Calder Roundabout on a Wednesday evening about 2 weeks ago.. same person ??

Lawrence ? Al ?? either of you ? since I know both of you are around this area ??

... no sightings of me yet ... but hoping to have my Red/Black RS sorted and on the road for this coming weekend !

Hey Terry, I'll admit to the Bankhead sighting. I also work there and use the bike most days.

The TRE on the Bypass was probably AL's. Was he going quite fast and being chased by a Police car when you saw him by any chance? :rolling:

Realise this is an old posting but I was in Edinburgh on the day of your original post and as I was crossing the road there it was, stopped at the lights on Lothian Road, a green and silver Tre.

Believe it or not that's what finally convinced me to buy one (even though I don't like Green!!!) and I finally took delivery of my green and silver tre this week.

You gents won't see me around though...I'm up in the land of sheep.

Scotland,

I might see you around ... I am up in Aberdeen. Got an LE ... but that will be tucked away for the winter at the end of this month. :bawl:

Duncan,

What colour is your bike? Thought I would have noticed you around?

Who would you recommend dealer wise in ABZ?

Scotland,

I have a green and silver LE (it's in the registry). Not done too many miles on it this year as it had a wee technical problem just after buying it. That took 4 months to sort out. Back on the road now though. Mostly blatting up North Deeside road to Braemar and the Lecht the last few weeks. I will SORN it and keep it off the road now until April.

Forget about having someone look at your bike up here. I had a small electrical problem when I first got the bike. I tried to have it looked at through my 3rd party warranty, which meant getting a recognized dealer to take it in. No one in Aberdeen or the surrounding countryside would have a look or even let it through the door.

My advice would be to buy the Tuneboy connector and software. That will help you diagnose most of the faults. For anything else ..... I suggest a van and a trip to Bennetts in Barnsley.

Cheers

Bummer that there's not a dealership that knows one end af a spanner from the other up in these parts. Barnsley is a hell of a long way from here (north of Inverness - think I might be the most northernly owner of a tre?), so think that I'll have to do a crash course in 'nelli mainenence!
Won't be tucking mine away for the winter just yet - still living in hope of the odd good day so that I can enjoy it.
This is my 23rd bike and I won't be planning a 24th for a long long time yet...!

Cheers for that Duncan,

If I have any more problems I'll invite you round with your Tuneboy in exchange for a cup of tea. I'm just off North Deeside Road so I have probably heard you flying past at the weekend.

You might be interested to know I was in Ecosse Yamaha last week. They seem like a good bunch. One of their mechanics (Italian) liked my bike & wanted to know if I'd sell it. The salesman said if I had any problems they'd be happy to have a look at it for me. OK, they're not specialists but might be worth considering in some circumstances to avoid the trip down South.

The Lecht is a great road. Wide open spaces so you can see what's coming.(Unlike my favourite Banchory-Fettercairn road where there is a Stag that I've nearly hit twice now, once on my bike and once in the car).

There's a good pub on the Lecht road a mile or so south of the ski centre. Think its called The Admiral or something similiar. Used to go up there for a great pub lunch. At that time it was owned by a good guy originally from Portsmouth. Not sure if he still owns it now.

Terry,

That was probably me that you saw on the A720 (I'm only a couple of minutes away from there) and like to nip up and down it so that I can hit some of the big roundabouts whenever I get the chance. I reckon that it was me on the old 'let's go for a posing session' Lothian road bit too. Sometimes it's nice to have people admire me (I mean the bike) rather than let them just see a green and silver blur pass them by:rolling:

Ooooh Laurie ..... the bike is fine now matey thanks. (I popped down to your house the other week as I was passing but there was nobody in .... although I could have swore I seen the curtains twitch and heard sniggering from behind the letter box);)

Knockhill isn't a track that I'd like to take a nelli around. Too bumpy, too narrow, not enough run off, too short to really enjoy and it'll probably piss of rain too:D I dropped my gixxer there a couple of years back at the hairpin and also had a couple of wasps get caught in the collar of my leathers which resulted in a couple of stings:rolling:
Donnington Park for me anyday:clap:

I have had my LE around Knockhill. Handles just fine .... it is a tight technical track whatever you take around it.

Been to Donnington heaps but never on the track. Would love to do that.

Still need a van and a shovel though!!!!

Hey Al, sorry I missed you when you were down matey. Oh, and it must have been the cat that was moving the curtains and making a noise behind the door!!!

By the way, I think I saw your rear light flickering when you rode away, I'd check it out if I was you :rolling:

Forget Knockhill guys - just head North of Inverness and enjoy the twisties up here.
There are some ace roads that are crying out for a few 'nellies to show up the Jap bikes!
