Yes, you can take it off by drilling-out the two fixing corks that you will find at the rear end part. When you re-assemble the pipe, in place of the two fixing corks you must fix two nuts so you can tighten all parts together again with two new alen screws.
The exit curved pipe is welded on the internal part. It's named exhaust silencing device (uitlaatdemper eindstuk) you can find it here: http://www.brabantmotors.nl/Accessoires/TNT 1130.htm
for 115 euro :blur:
The pipe is consisted by three parts the rear end, the external part and the internal part which is fixed with the tube going towards the rest of the pipe.
If you tear apart the pipe be wise and use a special pipe glue to fix it back for leak prevention!!!!!(the factory doesn't use any??!!)
The external part is aluminium and the internal is stainless steel.
The expansion degree caused by heat is not the same for both parts!
I have already replaced under warranty (twice) the battary box, rear fender, seat and exhaust due to exhaust gas leak!!!
After I dismantled and fixed back mine there is no gas leak any more.
Is you don't wont to get into any trouble and have a some of pennies to spend the new devil rocket exhaust is very tempting...
I removed my end cap and had a new end cap with a long ally pipe welded to it made up.The reason for doing this was 2 fold. Not only does it look better now,but her indoors is happy now that her ass is not getting covered in soot.
