any good ideas for someCHEAP throw over panniers for tornado? with the scottish trip coming up I completely forgot about strapping stuff on to tre, cant see my tailpack being any use and as I discovered magnetic tank bag is out, dont fancy the rucksack option, and just paid russ a hefty sum for service etc and will have to get some new rubber for that trip so funds are low

I used a cheap set of Oxford Sport jobbies when I took by bike over to Europe for a week long trip. Not too pretty but they worked fine even at sustained high speeds on the autobhan

I followed Laurence's advice last year and used the Oxford Sports throwovers, they secured well to the pillion peg supports.

I've just ordered a new tank bag. Held 4821 Martello, which uses a velcro system of fasteners. It's expandable, and has map and GPS pockets.
there are others in the Held range which are suited to non-magnetic tanks.
Further update after it arrives.
Note: the above photos are of the 4820 magnetic model, as mine has no side flaps which would contain the magnets.

p.s. Laurence's Oxford Sport appears to be discontinued :(

used buffalo sport and expanded throwovers on quite a few bikes without issue, the sports are slightly smaller and shaped for aerodynamics and of course to clear the exhast.

they aint too expensive either

Hi Kiddy / Daimo

Please look in my folder http://www.benelliforum.com/gallery/darthfazer_softluggage

For pictures of the Oxford 1st time panniers from Argos @ £39.99.
expandable with rain covers and 5 x colour inserts to put in compartments each side of the panniers in order to compliment the colour of your bike.

They fit on a treat. Easy to fit and plenty of staps for under the seat and under rear bodywork and plenty of Bungees to attach to pillion pegs.

I have fitted them on so that pillion pegs can be used so my Mrs can come to tt 2010. Although think we will ride up on the Fazer two up and my Bro with ride the Nelli one up to the ferry terminal at Liverpool.

I previously bought an Oxford 1st time (non expandable) magnetic tank bag for the Fazer. It also fits on the Nelli a treat using the strap and bungee underneath the front of the rider seat and around the headstock to hold it in place. For both of the above I do have some rubber matting to prevent scratches. But have saved some bubble wrap also as its just as good if not better!!

You can get some stonking good deals on the internet for buying these items together. Just get searching..

Cheers Al

High quality bag.... BUT atm can't get the velcro attachment to fit under the LE's seat due to tight fit against tank :(

I had the same problem with the tank bag I strapped onto my TRE but I used a wire coat hanger to help feed the strap through and pull it into position.

Oxford tank and panniers

Panniers and tank/tail pack are ideal. Fit the Tre really well no buffetting from panniers at at 80mph 2 up fully loaded.
Have used tank/tail pack many times as so useful.

Unable to find any tank bag and pannier deals

But have a look at--

Where I got mine from Argos - Shows reviews

http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/0382986/reviews.htm

Cheapest I found at £35
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oxford-Products-OF414-First-Panniers/dp/B000R59342

Would go for an Oxford 1st time tank/tail pack as they are much more useful than just a tankbag. Great for putting in things for a weekend trip andfit on the rear seat ideal.

Cheapest tank/tail pack at £32

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oxford-1st-Time-Tank-Bag/dp/B000R5B2V4#productPromotions

any problems/questions pop me a PM.

Thanx for response - looks like a bargain to me.:D You know if it will fit TNT ? - use a all-in one throw over today - but seems like these offers more space and i don`t like riding with tank pack.

Cheers!
