I've noticed there seems to be a few differences between what the factory web page says specifications wise and the auctual fitout, I wonder if anyone can confirm some things, like 05 sports run different susp adjustment facilites than the 06 models, the Cafe Racer suspnsion adjustment and fork size, etc etc, It seems as though the Titanium has all the fruit, but is much more exxy than the others, sport now loose's comp damping adjustment, but the 05's had it, but has rebound on the rear suspension, CR only has spring preload, no other adjustment, but fully adjustable 50mm forks, where's some spec sheets says it has 43mm forks etc etc, wheels are another discrepency, cast or forged, carbon bits etc. who should I believe, various web sites, as the factory pages itself seem contradictory??, really they should stick the standard tornado shock in the rear across the tnt, tnt sport and cafe racer and be done with it?

I know It’s a flipping nightmare with the spec’s particularly the last of the titanium’s and sports that were made, allegedly (legal bit) the factory raped anything available just before it shut last year. I have seen 2 titanium’s and 3 sports at reddog all with significant differences one of the titanium’s had a noticeable hacked about tornado frame.:eek And the rear sprockets on the bikes varied by 6 teeth. As the 06/07 models start filtering through I think we will see a more consistent spec? I hope so because I want to upgrade to a sport at the end of the year.:D (Love the look of the café racer but the bars are to flat for me).

I know

Ive seen a tnt pic from the milan late 05 show with a sport with chrome fork legs instead of the DLC coating running radial mounts, really I'm rarther disappointed no tnt models have rear comp damping except for the ti model, Ideally I would like a sport and I'd put a stm wet slipper on it. a Ti model with chrome legs without the DLC coating. a Cafe with differing lower fairing etc,I thought they would go into the parts bin's to use up stock and then they really standardise wheels and suspension, on this link from the milan show the specs look different to those from the specs pages on the Benelli web page?, I guess a later 06 models with all the factory mods , (starter gears, thicker battery cables, if their fitting them ) would be a good bet. Might have to hit up the local dealer for some brochures, as this should ;) have to actuall specs "as delivered"
:rolleyes

Re: I know

You are so right aussievtr, if I do end up swapping at the end of the year I will inspect the specification and more importantly the bike very carefully before accepting it.

Yum !

Thats the one I want to get at the end of the year. The differences I noticed from studying the photos from the front brakes, forks, bar end mirrors, front mudguard, and placing the fans on the outside when you look at the '05.

I actually like the older mudguard better and the bar end mirrors. Are they still available ?

Also do they suffer from the hot starting issue or have the maps been fixed ? At least I understand there was a new map issued which fixes the issue.

Cafe

Drekka, no Cafe's were made in 2005, brand new model, although they were some protoypes of the Cafe racer made, so what it has is what you get, 43mm forks and the mirrors should still be the bar ends, i take it they have just been removed for that photo, actually i would like to put some of those mirrors on the RS, I wonder what the price is $$$, pity i cant get a sport and put the cafe racer clip-ons on it, 43mm versus 50mm forks, Its going to be a hard decision :D

Re: Cafe

Ok. I was looking at pictures on bikez.com and comparing with those on the Benelli site. The most noticable differences is the front forks where the pics on Bikes have the race brakes. But no bars ends.

If I could pick and choose, I'd have the front mudguard and radial brakes from the bikez pic, and the bar end mirrors from the pic on the Benelli home site. Am I getting too picky ???? ;-) I'm no braking expert, but I understand that the radial brakes are better. I'm not sure why specifically, but they appear to be on the Sports model.

P.S. It also seems that bikez gets a lot of hi res pics. I've also found some on other sites which are higher than those on the Benelli site.

That 05 thing

Ahhh I thought that might have been an 05-06 change. Hence me thinking there was two different versions as such.
