Anyone tried the fuel injector swap yet?
Got it, and replied. Cheers.email sent James.
I'll be trying this at the next service. Probably mid January.
Adapters are on the way.
I think the problem could be if the flow rate/dwell times of the replacement injectors is not very similar to the OEM, then your fuel mix would be either lean or rich.I'm up for trying the swap as Steven's evidence seems fairly compelling.
Two different suppliers. I'll be fairly sure that the supplier I'm sourcing will be cheaper than powerflow. Im not looking to make money off this, so the more orders we can get in, the cheaper per injector it will be.I could be interested in a set if the price is right.
PS:
James and Steven, are you both dealing with powerflow or are you in touch with two different suppliers?
They are the same injectors as per steven's pics.James, are you sure that these are the same injectors that Steven used or have you tried these injectors as yet and, if so, was there a noticeable difference over the standard units?
There's nothing chicken about it.I'm definitely interested... as soon as they're in a few people's bikes and working nicely. Call me a chicken; I rarely buy version 1.0 of anything...
Cheers for the TPS tip. Resistance at the pins is 12.5 Ohms.My injectors were all black with an orange o ring,
Jamesobrady make sure you reset the tps after you install the injectors if you notice she runs very rich on start up. And could you check what the ohm reading on those injectors you got is? Please!
The spray pattern does not work well given the angle of the injector and intake port and valve. It causes a dribble effect along the wall of the intake and a puddle around one of the intake valves causing misfiring and as a result that terrible stall issue as you approach a set of lights or roundabout.
It also creates the hunting idle. I sent jamesobrady a short vid of my bike and he agrees that it idles extremely smoothly! Doesn't it James?
James don't fear once you install them and get your bike up and running you will understand why I have been advocating the whole injector issue. Please get back to me with the results of your install.
James getting close to doing the injector swap?
Yeah, c'mon, James we're all gasping to know the results. What's keeping you man?![]()
looking forward to the results to. if i could stop my bike stalling i would be a happy man![]()
As per a previous post, I aint anywhere near being able to afford to do it the way I want to re: dyno runs etc.
The point of this was to find the cheapest supplier for folks if they wanted to push ahead with it, and fwiw I got an email today with a unit price of $10 per unit for an order of 30 units.
What I can afford to do, time permitting, is bring the injectors and the originals to Cork and have them Flow Rated to compare.
I have a feeling the Benelli will be going into long-term storage to facilitate a bit of travelling at the end of Feb..so time is against me on this one.
It'll be up to someone else with more money and time to progress this I'm afraid
Hope finding the supplier has been of some use guys.
