Hi again all , still trying to sort out my issues with :ele: , though i have noticed the breaking down/surging seems more inline with throttle position as opposed to revs e.g in 1st up around 8500-9000 3rd 6500 and top 5000 ( rough estimates ) could it be that the TPS is on its way out and if so where is a good place to get one , have noticed it is quite a tight fit on the 899S , so is there an easy way to remove/replace or does it require removal of throttle bodies etc ???

THANX in Advance :D

So I removed TPS and stepper gave a bit of a clean etc ( TPS is sealed unit on mine ? ) , still having the same issue though it does seem to be slightly different now , hard to explain but it feels different when breaking down/flat spotting etc , So I am guessing could be the TPS on the way out ? , Is there a link to part supplier or equivalent ? ...

Thanks in advance
:D

Benelli Australia will be able to help you out with a TPS heath, once replaced you will need to reset the min & max values, either with an Axone or Bendia. Have not played with Tune ECU on Nelli's so unable to comment on whether that freeware can set min & max throttle position values.

Hi from France !
it's very easy to reset the TPS with TuneECU, but don't forget to completely unscrew the idle screw before !
so, the zero is at zero and the 100 at 100, and at idle RPM : 2 or 3% (zero if you forget to unscrew !)

Havegot my TPS , but it seems the keyway is about 90Deg out to fit on the shaft for throttle body ? is the keyway adjustable on tps or throttle body , the keyway on new tps (when looking at it from the inner side) is facing SW where as it should be facing NW ... any ideas ???:confused::confused:

I have tested TPS with multi-meter and it seems to be reading OK , smooth transition as i wind from 0 - 100 (closed to open i guess) so maybe its not the TPS hmmm .

Heathen another thing to look at is fuel pressure, is the fuel filter clogged? is the pressure regulator stuffed, fuel pressure should be at least 4Bar. The bike will still run but in high RPMs it may be starving fuel explaining your flat spot. Just another thing to consider.

Thanks mate , though if i open throttle up fully it hunts a little then gets thru the flat spot and accelerates as normal , thats what has me stumped , so i think they might be ok as it gets though the flat spot and takes off like a rocket , lol . about to plug in PCIII USB and see how that goes , then on dyno tomorrow .
