terry, I think your RS is a 2004 see tenth digit.
Also you can look at the rear of engine infront of the damper and there is a number and year here on mine.
my frame is zbntb00024p100383 eng b3 100379 rear of eng no M 307 04
this is probably Morini factory number and year ?
The 9th digit ie 2 may mean version 2 ie RS? but not sure.
Dave, if your RS eng is complete it will have oilcooler connection behind oilfilter, not the heat exchanger of tre. That is unless someone has changed it.
Looks to me like the RS have engine numbers B3 1----- we will see if this pattern continues.
this is the engine that is supposed to be an RS. I got it very cheap from Italy and don`t really mind if it isn`t an RS.......it would be nice tho!

Thank you DBMG
as mine keeps cutting out without explenation and Russ has remapped it this may be my fault.

I have requested the same of Brian at Benelli.

Shall advice of resonce .

Where is the Tilt switch??

Dave that looks RS:D ,it has the oilcooler section fitted. Is it new? If it is I cant see why someone would change the heat ex for the cooler section.
JUREK, the tilt switch is fitted to the front of the airbox, see Errols site for some details...
PS I have the certificate of conformity for rs and it says engine type as marked on the engine B3*1

:ele: Thanks Colin. Got it off an Italian bike breaker via a friend of mine. He said it came from a written off RS and also had a standard Tre as well. Not new but APPARENTLY low mileage!!! Should I be looking for any issues with the RS engine? Anyone got a pic of the slipperclutch fitted to these?
P.S. Thanks to Aguilla I got it shipped back to the UK.  he`s the man for shipping stuff around the world.

I think the rs has no problems as per early tres, the clutch is stiffer and prob has stronger springs. The slipper clutch is not adjustable as it is sometimes said. It may have slightly different plates, ive read so much I cant remember !
Johnny O has told of altering slipper action by plate depth etc.

So far, with a sample of 10 VIN's..

The Tornado 900 VIN will be ZBNTB0000yP1xxxxx (assuming Jurek, AngleDangle & Nasty have Tornado 900's)

The Tornado 900RS VIN will be ZBNTB0002yP1xxxxx (assuming Colin's is an RS)

(where y is the last digit of the year of manufacture, and xxxxx is the frame number)

The engine number for an RS appears to be B31zzzzz (although BenelliDave's appears to begin with an A)

The engine number for a standard 900 appears to be B30zzzzz.

BenelliDave's TNT engine number appears to be indistinguishable from a standard 900. Was it actually an 1130?

Only 2 of the Tornado 900's can be believed to have had the necessary mods carried out. (DBMG & me) Only one has actually had the mods sighted (me).

Are you guys happy to post your VIN, engine nos. & mod status on my website? I'll leave your names out of it. It's not needed.

Lots more numbers & mod statuses needed. Keep them coming in.

Not to complicate things as mine is a US model Tornado Tre 900 :

ZBNB3TRB75P100031

US Title says 2005 as year, with an engine number listed as 003457

B1300106 for the RS / built 10/04
I think that should read B3100106. Correct me if i`m wrong.

Yes it was an 1130. I didn`t get a chance to read the new engine number last night but `i will tonight.

A database of ALL available numbers would be great.
Keep them coming in.
Hopefully Roland (admin) can get the issues of the Registry and gallery sorted so this can be documented for all to see.

forget to mention

mine is obviously an 03 model bike, but was registered in 07 with all mods done. Advertised as an 06 bike, but not sure if this is when it was shipped, unpacked or assembled from bits...either way it is faultless apart from clock reset every now and then - curiously this not not seem to be battery related, and actually seems better if I start with the lights on (as I found out inadvertantly:(

Cheers
