I couldn’t find any post describing my issue, and so far I haven’t found a solution.
My bike runs perfectly when cold.
The hotter it gets, the more power it loses: in 1st gear the revs are limited to around 6000 rpm, and even lower in higher gears.
It’s not a rev limiter, but more of a “bwaaa” bogging sound, as if the engine is taking in too much air — kind of like an old 50cc 2-stroke scooter we used to mess with as kids.
Engine temperature is normal, no overheating.
Fresh new lithium battery, recent spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, fresh oil change and coolant (~1500 km ago).
No fault codes on the OBD scanner.
I’m looking for help to identify the cause.
As a first step, I’m considering replacing the original ignition coils (the bike is close to 25,000 km), but they’re quite expensive, and I’m not sure if the ones sold on AliExpress are reliable.
If you know a reference from that site that’s confirmed to work, I’d be glad to hear it 😊
