I've been trying to locate a rack for that. They are available on SHOPPEE in India but they don't despatch to Ireland. I've tried ALIBABA but can't find it. If you knock across a supplier let me know.
Will do. There's similar racks to that on ebay, if you don't mind doing a bit of modification you could probably get one to fit.

Wow. 3 weeks in and the rain is starting to bring out the rust on the larger nuts/bolts.
I'm gonna have a think about how to address these, I read your earlier post about how you did it so I might go down a similar route. Bloody rain and Irish climate !!!!!

I replaced all the bolts and washers that went rusty with stainless items from ebay, you can pick them up pretty cheaply. The four large dome nuts that hold the rear shocks in place have got a weird metric thread but older Jap bikes use the same size nuts here's link to the place for the ones I bought. If I remember correctly they are M12 x 1.25 for a 17mm spanner size but you might want to double check before you order them 'cause it was a while back that I changed mine and I've slept a lot since then.

They have everything. I'll start to replace them section by section.
 
These bikes do look good without the pillion pad. I've been contemplating removing mine and fitting some sort of rack in it's place. Maybe when I get a bit of spare time I'll look into the idea more.

Hello Ger, hope you've been keeping well. We haven't had any rain in the south of England for a couple of months, It's to bloody hot for my liking:cool:. As far as wet weather gear goes all I use are a pair of ex army gortex leggings and me leather jacket. When it really pisses down I wear a good pair of waterproof boots but they are a sod to put on so most of the time I just wear my 30 year old Akito boots, they've got a few holes in them now but they are nice and comfy so I put me feet in a couple of plastic bags inside the boots;).

My rear tyre is just about to expire after 5000 miles of use, this sounds bad but they don't make tyres to last these days so most brands you won't see much more than 6000 miles out of 'em. I'm having a Bridgestone Battlax bt46 fitted to the rear in a couple of weeks, these have good reviews for use in all sorts of weather conditions so I'll see how I get on with it. I usually go for Avon tyres but apparently they don't do one in the right size for an Imperiale.

Hi all. Good to be here. I have had my gorgeous Imperiale for about a month now and I absolutely love it. It really suits my riding style down to the ground and is perfect for commuting or pottering about up here in the beautiful Peak District. I am interested to see how the bike holds up against the coming winter for commuting. I gave it a good clean and wiped some ACF50 on to help but time will tell.

It's an amazing bike. I just recently WON a Tracer 700 in a raffle and am using it a bit. But it's an Imperiale. There's something special about that 400!

Hi Ger, yes it is lovely. I have already had quite a few people say that they love the look of it, with lots of interested nods of agreement whilst having a look. Well done for winning that raffle! 👍

Hello all, bit of an update on the trials and tribulations of my Imperiale ownership. I've removed the metal frame work that went around the real wheel and 're-crafted' the tail tidy in order to raise my number plate and I've fitted a replica BSA M20 silencer which I think sounds rather good, after I fitted some baffles mind you! It's not all been good though, at the begining of December 2022 the bloody gearchange started playing up, the damn bike wouldn't stay in gear. Turns out it was a poxy little spring that had snapped on the end of the gear linkage located just behind the clutch, luckily my local Benelli dealer, Poole Moto, took the bike in straight away fixed it and I had my Imperiale back after just two days. It would have been done under warrenty but being a bit of a twat I decided to do the second service of the bike myself thinking that because I hadn't any problems with the bike in over a year of ownership then I should get at least two years with no serious issues. Anyway it cost me bang on 300 quid to get it repaired and that included an oil and filter change. Not sure what the cost of the second service is but all in all I don't think I came out of it to badly, lesson learnt mind you (y) I've just adjusted the bikes valve clearances, the inlet was fine but the exhaust valve was way out, and I've given my Imperiale it's first wash and polish of the year, probably a waste of time cause they forecast rain for my area next week :rolleyes:

Hello. I got the mirrors from ebay, the one's that I bought are no longer listed but here's a link to a pair that are very similar. Fitting is easy enough but you'll need to wrap a bit of insulating tape around the outer part of the mount that bolts into the bar end in order to get a nice snug fit. I fitted the mirror two years ago and it's held up suprisingly well to the British weather, the stainless bolts are still shiny and the black coating is still good.

I've got another 12 years before I can hang my boots up, I can't wait! I've put 8,000 miles on my Imperiale so far and other than a spring breaking on the internal gear linkage the bikes been very reliable. Unfortunately I can't say so much as far as corrosion resistance goes, I've been chasing rust for the last couple of years so I've now relegated the bike to fair weather riding only, I've aslo got a Honda CB500X that I use when the weathers crap.

It is the original downpipe thats still on my bike, they polish up quite nicely with a scotch pad and some autosol. I have seen the pipe that you mention from India but to be honest the quality doesn't look to be that good. I'm thinking of either dectating my downpipe and wrapping it in titanium exhaust wrap which would be pretty cheap to do or I may get a stainless downpipe custom made for the bike, I haven't made my mind up yet.

I'm not too keen on keeping the 'plastic' tail tidy but I still want something to come down behind my rear wheel. At some point I'm going to look at knocking some sort of tail tidy out of stainless steel, but my next mod was going to be the clocks.
