owners manual

bought a tnt300s and have to say the owners manual is horrible. i have never seen an owners manual so bad.
there is so much information missing. they do not even tell you how to set the instrument panel.
compare the Benelli manual to any other motorcycle manual and you will see how bad it is.
love the bike, but just want information available.
i have written Benelli numerous times and they have not responded at all. emails to general information and technical information.
i sure hope this is not an indication of the kind of service i will get from Benelli dealers.
i have also written Benelli Thailand and the same, no response.

Hello All,

Am having this bike since May 2015. Till now i have ridden it 5800 kms. Overall the bike is nice but the quality of the bike is biggest concern too many part failures, as reported by member.
Ow an excellent machine, awesome for highways, good economy, Following are the issues i have faced since i bought the bike.

1> RPM meter showing wrong reading after 30kms of ride.
2> Front fork leaking.
3> Vibrations.
4> Rusting at few places .

but many owners in India facing chain and sprocket issues as early as at 6000kms, some horn issues, starting issues, coolant leak issues.

and agree on rodknock , the owners manual is horrible.

Hey Guys,

Binil from Bangalore, India.

I have thankfully not had any major technical issues yet.

But the following are few nagging issues.

1. The Stem Nut needs to be tightened every service.
2. The paint quality of the chassis, foot pegs, gear and break levers need to improve. My black foot pegs and gear/break levers have faded to an orange/copper color. THe red chassis got scratched by my knee guard and the paint is so thin that the paint just pealed off.
3. Swingarm is showing signs of rusting.

Hi Shahbaz from Mumbai, India..

So far have not seen any major issue in bike, except soft brake feeling on front which was sorted post brake bleeding. Clocked 5500 km so far and bike is doing what it suppose to do. Happy Owner here. ;)

Agree with Binil on footpeg issue, I am looking for some replacement for it.

this winter we will start to do some tuning on the BN 302 just for fun :D first is a complete racing exhaust, and a new Airfilter, in a kind of K&N
also we have now accsess to the MT05 ECU, means that dyno is waiting, so may be we can have fun with the little one in Calafat this christmas:rolling:

ciao Alex
I am interested in changing my air filter to the likes of K&N or BMC. But not finding any replacement filters for TNT300 or the BN302. Which airfilter are you using ? Can we have a model and make please ?

chain gets worn out at 6000kms 3 people from mumbai face this issue.
Chain seems not to be the best quality one. Several Chinese owners also reported they had to replace it between 6k ~ 10k Km despite good lubrication. IMHO chain should last longer on a 300CC bike.
I have completed 12800kms. Chain and Sprockets are doing great. I lube every 1000kms at home. Not sure if I had a good piece or its because of the way i clean it.
The last time I was cleaning, I realized that the chains are from CHOHO Colombia. Have any of you heard of this brand ?

Link to TNT300 / BN302 chains. I searched it using the engraving on the chain links (CHOHO 525HO)

My SwingArm and Foot Pegs Assembly got replaced free of cost. Had to shoot a mail and have a one on one meeting with the country service and support head to get it done.

Yes, the vibes are there. It's kind of characteristic to this bike. I guess we have to live with it.
You will notice it even more if you have moved from a Yamaha or a Honda which do not tend to vibrate a lot. For eg. my friend who owns a bullet finds the bike super smooth. :p

Hello from Benelli Vietnam Team (Facebook Group) - Report from Vietnam

Hi All,
My name is Trung, from Benelli Vietnam Team (facebook group)
I had a BN302 since Oct 2014 and it is now 35,000 km. (Now i am having BN600i ABS also)
Reading through all your problem, i had already been through most of them.

1. Clutch wire breaks - This is because of the contour metal pipe, it is very sharp inside. so before you replace the wire, use a piece of sand paper to smooth the end of it.
2. Chain worn out - mine is worn out with dead chain link at 12,000km. This is Oring Chain, so you need to treat it well
3. Battery run-out - the battery is dead after 15,000km -> replace
4. Starter Relay fail at 8,000km - the inside of the starter relay is very bad copper material, it gets oxidized and won't work -> i replace with a Yamaha NOUVO relay using same fuse (2Amp).
5. Losing nuts - due to the vibration, i do tighten nuts every 2,000km (oil replacement) however still lose some specially those small ones, like the foot rest pad.
6. LCD display timing wrong - i have notice that every time i start the bike, it will lose some second, for a few weeks it can be 3-5 mins behind the actual time on my watch.
7. Leaking cooling liquid through hose - i had this problem after i replace my stock cooling water, tried to find many way to fix it but seem the leaks are inside the hose, through it's wall then come out at the end. so i end up replacing the hose with the OEM ones
8. Leaking cooling water through oil tank - this is not my problem but i found at least 2 bikes in the group having this problem. this is actually ONLY happen for older model (2014 and early 2015) this is because of the old water/oil pump does not have a hole for water comes out if it leaks. therefore the water follow the pump going to the oil tank. this can be solved best by replacing the new oil/water pump version (all later model using this version).
9. Stock tire slippery- yes it is, the later model 2016 in Vietnam is using Europian version with Pirelli tires.
10. Vibration - Since the engine is twin parallel 360 degree (if you do not know what it is, please google it), it creates good sound but on the order hand, it create double the vibe vs Z300 and Y3 (paralle 180 degree).
11. There is one bike in vietnam unlocked RPM (stock limit at 11.5, unlock to 13.5), it will not provide a better acceleration (unless you change the gear ratio by using sprocket and disk drive from BN600) yet max speed can be 200km/h (gear 2 i have tested at 108km/h), the fastest report right now is 187km/h at 6 gear - 12k RPM. but at 13.5 RMP the bike is vibrate like a massage machine.
13. Suspension seal fail -> leak oil at 9000km . i found out that if you hit bad road, this would happend sooner -> replace the seal is ok now
14. DONT FAIL - you will break the gear shifter/break pedal - replace it with a big nut will help.

That is all for now, let me know if you have any question
This is my channel, i have some exclusive info from Benelli so could be helpful for you all - https://www.facebook.com/Look.Channel.Vietnam

I am Benelli TNT 300 owner from Pune India. Got my bike in June 2016.

To begin with the horn stopped working after the temperature hits 85 deg celsius.

Few days later it went completely dead and now its the third horn which they claim is high performace but once the bike temperature peaks my scooters horn sound much better.

Just before the first service speedometer started flickering, service advisor told me maybe a loose contact so they cleaned the contact and replugged claiming it should work fine.

During delievery i noticed rusting between the handle and tank so got it sanded and painted.

Again few days later speedometer went completely dead so they called for a replacement which took over two months to get.

Finally i decided to take a night ride only to find the headlight in high beam point to the right and high up in the trees and low beam is had on 15 feet of visiblilty. Took back for adjustments but they could not get it right yet again got a new set of headlights with same delays, but this time the high beam points straight but too high and the low beam is kind of ok.

Took it back for adjustments and the service advisor told me the have a calibration system which was just 2 yellow tapes on wall and floor but even with their so called calibrated standard setting road in not visible on high beam figuring out there is not point aguring with the service advisor asked the technician to compromise the low beam and bring the high beam lower. It looks like at night i will be riding the torando like a moped till the warranty period is over and then modify to put a better headlight unless DSK Benelli really cares about the customer and come out with a proper solution .

Not really much help but the small honda's we sell seem to have rather cheap drive chains supplied when new and often have to be replaced after 5-10000mles, not the best quality and we find a lot of the small bikes which are used year round don't get cleaned and lubbed often enough especially in the bad weather.

I have this bike for 2 year, never found some major issue, but should check tight nut on the brake disc, most problem attack are starter relay but can be swap with yamaha scooter. And for the service just like other bike
